Product Responsibility

Design

Our products have been designed to develop creativity, dexterity, concentration and an understanding of construction. They do this whilst offering a calming and mindful activity that the maker can be proud of. Pre-cutting helps to guarantee the success of the project and utilise materials responsibly.

Manufacture

The fabrics and trims that we use in our products are acrylic felt, polyester fleece, cotton and linen, which are easy to wash, maintain good colour and are ideal for sewing. We source high quality fabrics from the UK, Europe, India, Korea and China. We continually review our supply chain with sustainability in mind. The fabric and trims only make one journey to the UK where we design, cut and prepare our products in our London shop. We either make to order or maintain low stock levels to keep our wastage to a minimum.

Distribution

We now offer click and collect as well as a postal service within the UK. We aim to have all our product and postal packaging to be 100% eco-friendly by minimising waste and optimising the use of recyclable materials by the end of 2021.

Use

We hope that our products will give you great joy and personal satisfaction. They help in teaching essential life skills. These skills can be used to re-use, recycle or up-cycle. The projects can be gifted and shared with others or kept with pride for many years to come.

End of Life

The great thing about sewing is it gives you the ability to cut up your project and reuse it on another project. The stuffing can also be reused. We will always offer ideas for reusing your fabric. Alternatively the polyester, cotton and linen can be recycled at your local textiles recycling depot or returned to Sew Much Fun, Primrose Hill where we can recycle it for you. At the moment it is difficult to recycle acrylic but hopefully this will change in the future.
