I founded Sew Much Fun in October 2002 and working from home and in church halls I started to teach children and adults to sew in my spare time. In December 2007 I opened my first shop in Primrose Hill, and since then we have grown from strength to strength. I opened a second shop in Windermere in the Lake District in 2013 and wrote my first book ‘A Year of Sew Much Fun’ in 2015.My objective for Sew Much Fun has always been to establish a hub to inspire creative sewing. Both shops offer classes for all ages (age 5 to 95!) and abilities, contemporary fabrics and trims, yarns, our own Sewing Projects, and a busy alteration and commission service. Our objective is to offer a personal service in our shops with creative sewing ideas and advice on how to achieve success in every sewing project.I have a very hands on approach and teach a lot myself but I am also supported by my team of enthusiasts including my part-time Assistant Alex in London, and Lucy who manages the shop in the Lakes for me.Twenty-Five years before all of this I graduated from London College of Fashion and had a varied and successful career in design and production management in the fashion industry. It is my background as a product engineer that encourages me to develop products and techniques that are achievable to ensure your sewing success. Our Sewing Projects available on this website are pre-cut by hand in the shop so they are ready to sew, and we work hard in simplifying the designs and supplying written instructions with hand drawn illustrations to guarantee success! We look forward to welcoming our on-line customers to Sew Much Fun!
