Product Purchasing Information

Colour representation

We cannot guarantee the colour representation of our on-line photos due to the complexities of photographing product and the variety of computer settings, for colour. We are continually working hard to improve the colour accuracy of our product photography and product descriptions. When necessary we can offer a sampling service.

Fabric Measurements

Depending on the fabric you can purchase it in multiples of :

1/2 metre, (0.50 metre) multiples of which will be sold in one long piece,So for example 2 x 1/2 metre will be a length of 1.00 metre 3 x 1/2 metre will be a length of 1.50 metre and so on. To get an increment of a 1/4 metre add on a Fat Quarter (FQ) and that will be added onto the long piece.

So for example 1 x 1/2 metre plus 1 x FQ will be a length of 0.75 metre 2 x 1/2 metre plus 1 x FQ will be a length of 1.25 metre

Fat quarter (FQ) is one piece of fabric 0.50 metre x 55.00 metre 30 cm square (12 “) squares General Comment - Useful measurement lengths

30 cm squares in fleece and felt are a perfect size for beginner projects for children from which you can make cushions and small projects including flora and fauna and the occasional space ship! Fat Quarters are the patch worker’s favourite but they are also great for wash bags and makeup bags and our popular cloud cushion. 1/2 metre (0.50 metre) of fabric is a great length for cushions and bags, and skirts and shorts for children under the age of 8. 3/4 metre (0.75 metre) of fabric you can start to get pinafores for 5-6 year olds, long PJ bottoms for up to 8 year olds and PJ shorts for teenagers and adults. 1 metre (1.00 metre) of fleece makes the perfect blanket and a pair of snuggly trousers for up to a 12 year old! But with the narrower width cotton you will need a couple of metres for long PJ bottoms. You need longer lengths for dresses, shirts, skirts, coats and backs to quilts and it is best to be guided by the pattern you are making from. Sew Much Fun Sewing Projects, Patterns and Pattern Bundles

Sewing Projects Our Sew Much Fun Sewing Projects come with pre-cut pieces ready to sew with everything you need to make the project. This includes a SHARP sewing needle and sometimes small parts like buttons and ribbons that maybe hazards to very small children so we recommend all our projects are for ages at least 6 year olds and up and should be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. They are sewing projects NOT TOYS.

Patterns Our Sew Much Fun patterns and illustrated instructions are tried and tested in our sewing workshops so we hope we have removed any glitches so you can make them easily at home. You will need to trace off the relevant pattern size but that will be from a very clear lined diagram. Over time we will support techniques with instructions on our blog and videos on our Youtube.

Pattern Bundles This will be a combination of our Sew Much Fun pattern and the required fabric, trimmings and thread to complete the project in the largest size. Nothing will be cut out or pre-prepared, just the advantage of getting it all together in one bundle at an overall reduced price.

Sewing Classes We offer many sewing classes at Sew Much Fun but because we think the process requires a personal conversation we do not offer an automatic booking system on line. For adults we offer small mixed ability classes so it helps if you get in touch with us directly and we can discuss your needs. For children we have term-time classes and holiday classes for hand sewing and machine sewing. The classes are small and of mixed ability. Hand sewing is available from 5 years and up and machine sewing is available from 8-18 years.

Sewing Parties We really only have time and capacity to run our sewing parties in London on a Sunday either at the shop or at local homes. This service requires a personal conversation, please contact us for further information on costs and availability.

Private Commissions We make all sorts of private commissions. Each commission has its own design specification and delivery agreement. We also offer a personalised commission service on-line on some of our very popular sewing projects for those who want to purchase hand made goods and haven’t the time to make them themselves. We will always seek confirmation of these orders to clarify the exact requirements prior to making them.
